I currently have the white macbook but it is very slow when I try to play the sims 3. This is one of the only reasons I use my computer so I feel it is pointless, thus I have decided to upgrade to a new mac. Which Mac would be best for gaming? I am open to any and all ideas (note: I am only considering a mac so don;t just say get a PC). Also if it would be best for me to pay extra for certain features or upgrades please specify. Thanks!

In my opinion, Windows PC’s are still the best platform for gaming. I have been a mac fan for many years and have owned 3 macs and still own 2 of them. I find that if I want to play game, it is better to install windows using bootcamp and play game on Windows. The performance is just better.
There are FEW games for macs, meaning few online players and few choices. Windows 7 PC’s are amazing. My FPS increased by about 15 from Vista. My sister’s macbook can run Sims 3 but at very low settings and very laggy, my PC costed less and runs it at highest settings with no lag at all.
I know you said no PCs, but go into Best Buy or any PC retailer, and test-drive a PC for a bit that has Windows 7 on it. (They all do, by now)
i know you said you want a mac, but macs aren’t made for gaming. they are more towards other things, but the best gaming mac would be the mac-pro. the better parts ( processor, RAM, ect.) the better gaming. if you wanna macbook, go with the 17- inch. macbook pro.
the worst would probably be the macbook air. it’s made for portability, not gaming.
let me know when you get your new mac @
If you have to get a mac, it will be a Macbook Pro with a dedicated video card.
